Toddler : Farm Animals

Fritz, Fritz-lightenment

Fritz is currently 22 month 3 weeks

ABC : Coloring Oo

O for Opa....

He knows this letter best! So when I asked him to color, I put the O flash card in front of him. He just mentioned "O for Opa" as long he did the coloring.

Craft
*Horse*

The first craft that we did..

Preparation:
* 2 different color construction paper, light brown and dark brown
* double tape
* scissors
* 2 wiggle eyes
* a black origami paper
* glue
* white wool string

How to do:
1. Make feet print (left and right) on the light brown construction paper, cut it
2. Cut the dark brown construction paper into 4 legs and a neck of horse
3. Put some double tape into the neck and 4 legs.
4. Make the horse by putting one foot print as the head and the other foot print as the body of the horse, connect with the neck
5. Paste the legs
6. Decorate the horse by putting eyes, 2 holes of nose from the black origami paper and a tail from it too
7. Cut the wool string as the hair of the horse, paste it
8. Tadaaaa!!!

*Cow*

Mr.Moo

Preparation:
* Cow's template
* A marble
* A tray
* Black paint
* palette

How to do:
1. Put the cow's template on the tray
2. Prepare the black paint on the palette
3. Dip the marble on it
4. Put the marble on the picture
5. Let the kid shake-shake-shake the tray up-down-left-right
6. and tadaaaaa!!!

*Sheep*

He didn't really into when doing it. He refused to paste the body of the sheep. He didn't like to uncover it with cottons. So it was me! ^^ He just put the eye only...-__-"

Preparation:
* Black construction paper, cut into sheep's template
* Cottons
* Glue
* A wiggle eye

How to do:
1. Apply some glue in the sheep body
2. Cover the sheep's body with the cotton
3. Paste the wiggle eye after that

*Hand Prints Chicken*

This was the fourth craft we did this week and it would be the last one. Actually we still have Pig Craft but we didn't have much time to do it.

So here's what we need:
* a light yellow construction paper, cut into chicken's body
* a dark yellow construction paper
* a black origami paper, make 2 eyes with it
* a red origami paper, make a chicken's mouth by cutting into a diamond shape
* glue
* scissors
* a pencil or pen

How to do:
1. Make kid's hand prints on the dark yellow construction paper, cut it. (Left and right hand)
2. Prepare the body, paste the eyes and mouth using glue
3. Paste the hand prints as the chicken's wings

It's so easy to do!!

Tracing : Straight Lines

When he did tracing, he felt unsatisfied if the lines weren't nice. So he did more and more and it looked like so many lines there.... Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!

Book : Barney goes to Farm

Before sleeping in the night, Fritz likes to read some magazines he has. And I put this book with them and we read it together.

Barney, BJ and Baby Bop came to a farm. They came to help the farmer. They feed the horse, milk the cow, took chicken's eggs, rode a tractor, picked corns and other vegetables. It's a nice story to recognize what we do in the farm.

Learning Toys
*Dough*

Dough is still big hits for him this week. His favorite spot is sitting right in front of in front door.

I made new things for him. I made an airplane, a cat and a car. Actually, I wanna make animals related with the theme this week, but he refused it. The one that I had to make is Mickey's face. He loves to put the eyes, ears and mouth into it.

He practices his soft motor skills by rolling the dough into balls in his hands and paste the dough into the proper place, e.g the eyes, ears and mouth or the wheels of the car.

*Dinosaurs*

Yesterday, when we went to a mini mart, they put a sale toys in front of their mart. I saw a dinosaur packet and it's just cost 9,000 rupiah. So I just got it and asked Pop to pay for it. *yay*

*Wooden Wire*

He just found his old toys. Because of the wire has broken, I didn't allow him to play with it and I just put it very far away from him.

So when he found it, he insisted to play with it. Now, he is able to play properly with this wooden wire. He can move the beads from up to down, left to right and to other sides. Cihuuuuuuuuyyy ^^

*Farm Animals Puzzle*

He didn't too much interest doing it as he is so expert in it. So when I gave to him, he didn't want to complete it. I have to give it more than once this week. It was the 3rd times and he did it!!

Miscellaneous
*Thunder*

When the thunder stroke in, he went to Uncle and stayed like this....he was so afraid of thunder!! Look at his pale face.....cute!

*Crossing feet*

I love this pic so much!!!

Both of them were standing in front door and they stood up alike each other.

The situation:
Pop had a phone from someone and he stood up with crossing feet. Then a few minutes after that, Fritz came nearby and copied what his Pop did. Crossing his feet as well as his Pop did!!

Fun : Jovann's B'day

This week we had attended Jovann's 1st b'day. They held the party at Hoka Hoka Bento, Alam Sutera.

It was a nice party but Fritz really didn't like the party at all. The one he loved was seeing the cake, full of his fave's characters. There were Mickey & friends plus Winnie & friends. He stared the cake for long time.

The rest of the party, he preferred to play outside with Pop and Mabelle and her dad. Dads talked each other about their kids development while Moms (Mom and Tante Mega) were having chit chat inside and enjoying the party. It's a reunion for Mom! ^^

Pissed Off

Mom-notebook,

As a parent, I really need to learn all about parenting hood, how to educate the kids to be a good person and have a manner in every situation they faces.

Sometimes, I'm a lil bit scared when Fritz showed his bad attitude in front of people. It just made me a really bad mom. I was failed to teach him a good manner. Though it's not 100% true.

The one that I wanna talk about here, it's about how to control the kids' emotional, esp angry in front of public. We really know exactly how it's hard to control our angriness, right? As a big person, adult, sometimes we forgot to be a nice person if related with this, anger, bad mood, mad and pissed off.

Yesterday afternoon, I had this situation with my private student. When I came, he has already showed refusal to study. It's totally different with his lil bro.

The big bro was sleeping in the couch when I came. The nanny has waken him up and he pretended not to wake up. The nanny told me that he refused to study that afternoon. He has told his parents many many times that day without any reasons why he didn't want to study.

The lil bro did the same thing with his bro. He pretended sleeping. When I came to him, he was smile and went to the his chair. The big bro has disappeared from the couch and hide in the back of the boxes. When I came to him, there was a tear in his cheek and he refused to be touched.

I thought it was not my job to ask him to study as he is a 11 years boy who already now which one his priority. So I just left him and went to the room where the lil bro has sat down nicely waiting for me. I started with the lil bro.

Few minutes later, the big bro came to the room and stood up far from his desk. He stood up near his mom's desk, calling for his mom to come home at that time. Actually, I didn't realize when he came until I heard he phoned his mom with his getting bigger voice intention to ask his mom to come home.

I came to him and tried to comfort him. When I touched his arm, he released it from me with quite big groaning *arghhh*

Then I asked him whether he wanted to study or not. Again, he's groaning *aaaarrggghhh*

I got pissed off and opened the door. I asked him again whether he wanted to study or not. If he didn't want to study just get out from the room and if he wanted to study please sit down. He didn't want to listen to me or face me.

I touched him again and he was really mad. He stomped his feet and got out from the room with big groaning. The last, he kicked the door before he really got out by saying "reseeeehhh" means annoying!

I thought that's enough. At that time, my position was his teacher and he was my student and it's VERY impolite if he did that to me!!

He wasn't a baby or toddler or a 5 year boy that he could angry to everyone if he didn't wanna do he hated. He supposed to be has manner to control his emotion. I didn't do something wrong to him, why he had to do like that.

Yes, I pissed off..

I just let him not to join with us. I just taught his lil bro that was so nice at that time. His lil bro was a cooperative one at least.

So, should I blame his parents for his bad attitude like that? Absolutely YES!!!

Please, don't ever pamper your child as he is the one that you afraid to get hurt. Just let him know that he's being love with discipline and good behavior.

I mean, yes, we love our kid so much. Right? But I think it's not quite reasonable if we love them by pampering him with every thing they want and we have to fulfill it. Just let him know which one is really need and which one is not. And how to control themselves in differences situation.

Discipline with love...not pampering....that's we need as a parent.

Being a parent really needs to learn every single day. And there's no school to be a great parents. Just enjoy the parenting hood!!

BIG Problems...

Mom-notebook,

There's a problem again appear in my family. It's very complicated.

I really don't know whether we can pass it or not.

Again....I have to choose in 2 choices....job or Fritz....

Sadly....At this time, I think I have to choose job and I wanna cry....really wanna cry....I don't wanna leave him at home and I go to work....I wanna stay at home...but I can't.....

Please GOD, help me...

Toddler : Valentine Week

Fritz, Fritz-lightenment

Fritz is currently 22 months 3 weeks

This week, actually we had some activities related with Valentine. For some reasons, we couldn't fulfill it.

ABC's : H for Heart

We played with dough and we made a letter H and heart related of the theme this week, Valentine's Day. He now gets into playing with the dough.

Craft : Hand print Heart
We made a handprint heart for the Valentine's craft. He likes to mix the color though we did some "fight" before doing it. He didn't want to eat anything for few days. He gets flu and cough and refused to eat everything. He just depends on my breast milk. I really get pissed off with him. So when we wanted doing it, he just stopped his crying.

Mixing the color

We mixed the red-white into pink and red-blue-white into purple. He insisted to mix the paints by him as he is expert in beating the eggs. He LOVES beating...and mixing...^^

Making the heart

We made the heart by using two different color in every single hand. As usual, after he did it, he asked me to get the tissue to wipe the paint from his hands. So chatty!! ^^

Tracing : Straight Lines

I was so amazed when he could trace the straight line straightly. My bro was the witness of the successful his straight lines. My bro was so shocked seeing it. I'm totally proud mom!! ^^

Practical Life
*Stacking Pringles*

This is a big hit for him in entire this week. After he successfully stacked those, he intentionally destroyed it and laughed loudly. I believe all the pringles got into pieces! Ha ha ha ha....

*Sweeping floor*

One day when my Bro was using a car, the carport was empty. I asked Fritz to play outside. He choose to sweep the floor as my maid does every afternoon. Using a long broom, he's trying to sweep the floor. Whatta boy!!

He did it again the next day. He even asked me to get some pics of him when he did it. He also gets into the padlock. He asked me to get the keys and he insisted to open it. *gosh*

Learning Toys
*Shape Puzzle*

He LOVES to play with puzzle. He asked me to put it down and let him doing it by himself. He could stand with it for few minutes.

*Dough*

This week, we played a lot with dough. We used the pink and purple dough related with the Valentine's colors. We made the uppercase and lowercase of letter Hh. We also made some fun with it by making some stuffs:
*Mickeys' face
*Elephant with two ears and long trunk, complete with the eyes
*Rabbit with two long ears, two eyes and a nose
*A car with two wheels
*Feeding utensil: two plates, two spoons, two fork and a cup.

It's just kinda fun playing with dough. Fritz also LOVES it now!! ^^ He asked me to play with it again and again...sitting in front of the house is his fave's spot...

Miscellaneous

Look at his style. He insisted to sit like this. He's just find another new style in sitting the chair.

Fun Time : Playing with Rafael (Ace)
I forgot to bring my camera when we went there. So I didn't have any pics at all.

Both of them are getting flu....*sroooot...srooot...srooot...get the tissue to wipe it out*

Rafael has tons of toys. Car park with 20 cars from ELC was a big hit for Fritz as he LOVES cars so much. He could play alone for a long time. He was so interest in cars and vehicles.

Sometimes, the owner wanted to play with what Fritz has played at that time. When Fritz has riden the cars toys, the one that the kid can sit on it and push by using his feet, Rafael came to Fritz and insisted to ride it too. Of course, Fritz lose and cried aloud.

Fritz is a peace boy who always can't fight for what he wanted. So when he lose, he cried. HAHAHAHAHA...*need to learn karate later*

Toddler : Happy Chinese New Year!!

Fritz, Fritz-lightenment

Fritz is currently 22,5 months

Craft : Hong Bao

We've got the idea from playhouse Disney Asia. As Fritz is so lovely with Mickey, I took the pic of Mickey for the hongbao. He looked so enthusiast when doing it.

Hongbao is a red packet, a tradition in Chinese New Year. The elder put some of money inside it and they give it to their children and all children categories; the relatives, cousins, nephew or niece or even someone who will not get married yet.

Coloring
*Dragon*

Though I really didn't have enough time to support the theme, he did the coloring for this week. He colored the dragon as the symbol of Barongsai.

*The Chinese children, Rabbit and Ox*

In the last day of Chinese New Year week, Fritz had much fun on coloring. He did 3 pictures; the Chinese children saying "Happy New Year", rabbit as now is the rabbit year and ox as his Chinese zodiac.

Learning Toys
*Lego Duplo*

Yipppppppy..... n_n

Fritz has a new toy again. Opa has bought a Lego Duplo for him through Oma's hands. Means, yesterday when I, Fritz and Oma have gone to Puri mall, we've been to Toys City.

Oma has seen it a day before and yesterday she wanted to show it to me as I was so curios with what she's been said to me. She said there was a Lego getting 50% discount there but she didn't know whether it is proper for Fritz's age.

Sooo, yesterday when she showed to me, I was soooo thrilled. I took it in hurry and didn't wanna to let it go as it was the last one standing there. I insisted asking her to buy it. ^^

In the end, she told me just let Opa pays it later. XOXOXOXOXOXO

Miscellaneous
*Drinking Orange Juice*

Almost a week he LOVES to drink an orange juice by himself. He sits nicely in the chair and drinks carefully from his cup. And successfully he finishes it and gives the cup to the maid. Mature boy, huh?! n_n

Movie : The Karate Kid
