Toddler : Transportation Week

Fritz, Fritz-lightenment

Fritz is currently 23 months 1 week

I've got the idea from Homeschooling Creation. She made lots of Transportation activities and it's so gorgeous. I took all her idea for this week.

Activity : Matching Cards

This was his first puzzle. He has to manage these puzzle into a right object. He was too young to understand it, I thought. He couldn't do it well but he knew which one was the missing parts. I'll keep it for later. Hehehehhehe.....

Craft
*Traffic Light*

Preparation:
* a black construction paper
* red, yellow and green origami paper
* glue
* scissors

How to do:
1. cut the black construction paper into rectangle shape
2. make a circle in every origami paper
3. ask the kid to paste the red first, follow by yellow and the last is green
4. tell the kid what is the function of traffic light and what does the mean in every color

*Box Car*

Preparation :
* an empty box of milk
* a light blue construction paper
* origami paper
* glue
* double tape
* scissors

How to do:
1. put double tape on two side of the box
2. make 2 car shape with light blue construction paper
3. cut 4 wheels, 2 windows and 2 lights using origami paper
4. paste the wheels, windows and lights on the car shape using a glue
5. paste the car shape into the milk box by taking off the double tape

Tracing : Airplane

He's not ready to trace this various lines. However, he was still showing his enthusiasm while doing it. He wanted me to guide him though in the end he made it out of line. Hahahahhahhaa....

Song : The Wheel on the Bus

The *wheel* on the bus

The word wheel and goes round we can change into these
* door - open and shut
* people - up and down
* wiper - swish, swish, swish

* driver - move to the back

Reading Book : Transportation Vocabularies

I started by Barney's books and Spot. Then I just remembered that I had this vocabulary book. I took it and I mentioned the things followed by Fritz. So far, he can mention some of the vocab there.

Practical Life
*Buttoning*

He's so into with button. Every time he sees someone wearing a shirt with buttons, he will announce "buttons...buttons"

When I gave this to him, he made a little improvement. He did with a lil help from me.

Learning Toys
*Car Riding Toys*

Now, he is able to move this car using his feet as before he was too lazy to move it. He can move here and there by himself. Going up and down too!

*Cars Toys*

He enjoyed himself playing role play using these cars. This red car is his favorite one.

*Alphabet Mat*

Yaaaaay!!

He improves his Alphabets...and he enjoyed himself placing these alphabets into the mat.

*Trains*

He's got this toy when he was having his 1st b'day. I put it in the box and he found it. He insisted to get it out and wanted to play with it. He loves the vehicles things. He called this train "Thomas" as in Thomas and Friends. Everything bout trains is Thomas. ^^

*Remote Control Cars*

Then he found this toy also in his undercover presents box, the remote control car. Of course it's not suit for him as he's too young for it. Again, he insisted to play with it. When the car went under the chair or it's far away from his eyes, he took it and made it near. So what's the functions of the remote?? >,<

Gross Motor : Up and Down

He's up...

Then, I gave up watching him!

Miscellaneous
*Boy in hat*

I really love this pic so much. He looks so adorable with his cute smile and big hat on his head....

Now, he can ask us not to take a pic of him. He's gonna say like this...
"ga...usah...foto...ck..ahhh....iseng...."
(no...need...(take) photo....ck (click the tongue)...ahh....iseng (can't find the synonym)"

*Ice Cream*

This was his expression when having a cone ice cream in one noon....so yummy!!

Toddler : Under the Sea

Fritz, Fritz-lightenment

Fritz is currently 23rd months

This week we have an Under the Sea theme. We didn't have much to do with the theme as I didn't prepare much for it. And Fritz was rather Cars than Sea Animals. Then we mixed the theme. So next week, we're going to have a Transportation week.

This flash cards have been made when I started the first period of home education. I had ever taught this cards to Fritz and at that time he wasn't as enthusiast as now.

He knew the animals mostly. I just said it not more than twice. When I mentioned the animals, he grabbed it and gave it to me.

Art : Under the sea finger painting

This was the first stage of doing the under the sea finger painting. I prepared few paints in the palette and asked him to do the finger painting in the drawing paper. It's nice as he didn't take any refusal doing it. He liked it!!

Actually, after the paint dried, I was gonna make under the sea view. The fact, I forgot to take the pic and it wasn't good at all the result as I wasn't a good imaginer of under the sea view...hehehehhehe....

Craft
*Fish sticker*

He pasted the fish sticker in a drawing paper then he continued to make some bubbles around it. Actually, I wanted to do it by myself, he insisted to do it alone. Though it was a little bit messy, it's his masterpiece bubbles!! *yay*

*Octopus*

We made this octopus...

Preparation:
* a yellow construction paper
* a black origami paper, make 2 eyes with it
* scissors
* glue
* pink marker

How to do:
1. make an octopus body from 2 hands of the kid by eliminating the thumb. Make it close, the right and left fingers
2. make some small circles around its body by using pink marker
3. paste the eyes.

*Colorful fish*

It's very easy to made.

Preparation:
* a black construction paper
* a white construction paper
* few of different color origami paper
* glue
* scissors
* red marker

How to do:
1. cut the black construction paper into fish body shape
2. make few different size circle from origami paper, make it 6 for each color
3. make a circle from the white construction paper for the eye
4. apply some glue in the fish body
5. let the kid paste the colorful circle into it
6. then paste the eye and make the ball eye using red marker

Note:
- It's a rhyme and we can use our body gesture when rhyming it.
- We can change the number of the fish.
- When we say fish, we can put our two hands together and move it like a fish.

Tracing : Straight and Circle

He was so enthusiast as usual when he did the tracing straight lines. However, he still needed more practice when doing the circle trace. Ciayo, boy!

Practical Life
*Cleaning up the car*

When he woke up, he went straight away to his car. He rode it like usual. Then I saw it was so dusty and I had an idea to ask him cleaning up his own car. He was so enthusiast doing it though he didn't clean it up well. At least he learns how to take care his own thing.

*Thomas' stickers*

He continued to paste this Thomas' stickers. He didn't really love so much with Thomas and it's quite shocked for me when he wanted to do it.

Miscellaneous
*Cars Lapbook*

As he LOVES cars so much, I took the cars lap book out again. He was so happy to see it. He played with it for long time. He took the counting cards out and made it messy. I put it straight and asked him to put it in order but he still couldn't do it well. He knows all the Cars' characters name. Well done, boy!

*Same sleeping style*

One day in the morning, I saw both of this son and dad were sleeping with this same style. I didn't wanna miss the moment and I grabbed the camera fast.

Techno: Playing Online Game

He always interested with laptop and really wanted to involve in it. Uncle has found an online simple game for him and he was happily playing with it. He just needed to press one single key and let the player did the rest. It's about Mario Bros was riding a motorcycle through hills. When Mario has fallen down, he giggled and chuckled a lot. Looks so happy!!

Fun : Visiting ii Ling2
Monday morning, we went to ii Ling2 apartment to visit her. Together with Oma and Uncle, we arrived in her apartment almost lunch time.

After an hour, Fritz has settled with the environment and he started to mingle with us. He opened the fridge. He's also brave to touch Molly, the dog. He even tried to feed it.

Though the apartment is quite small, we still had much fun there. Great time!

10 facts about Fritz

Left handed person

He was born with left handed and he will still live with left handed. So never ask him to change his left to right!

Jason "bald" Statham looks alike

Mom was a biggest fans of him. No wonder he was born with bald hair and looks like him a lot. ^O^

Calm, observer and attentive

He's different from other kids. He's not an active boy who like climb, run here and there or can't stand with toys. He can play nicely with his toys, even he doesn't dare to damage it. He also loves to observe what others do then he will remember it very well. He absorbs things very well. What a very attentive boy!

Breastfeeding Boy

He becomes healthy and smart because of it. And I don't need to be worried about the milk powder and going to doctor things. *YAY*

Opa biggest fans forever!!

He knows exactly what Opa does daily. He knows all about Opa.

Cars and Mickey's lovers.

He really can't be separated with those two things. All about Mickey and Cars. He can mention all the characters in. CRAZY BOUT THOSE!!!!

Home Education boy

He's not left behind because of it. He just needs time to get socialize. He is as smart as the schooling kids cause Momma always gives all the best for him.

Fierce

Don't near him when he's getting sleepy or he will "bite" you. Sound so fierce, huh! That's Fritz! He just wants to be with Momma when he's feeling sleepy and crazy bout breast milk to make him fall in bed.

Book and Pen

Loves these two things a lot. He managed the book very well. He never tears it and always read it correctly, not upside down. He also can grasp the pencil correctly and he did it naturally.

Neat

He's a totally neat person. If someone eat improperly, there's something left around the mouth, he will remind us to wipe it out. If the table is dirty, he's gonna take a tissue and make it clean. If someone gets outside with motor, he will remind it to wear the helmet, jacket and gloves, even just go out in the home complex.

Once in a public area, there was a dad with his son. We had a short conversation like this

Dad : How old is your son?

Me : He's almost 2 years, in March

Dad : Oh..my son is 2 years 4 months. My son is older than yours.

Me : Oooh....
but your kid's body is smaller than mine, sir

Dad : Is he school already?

Me : Nope. We just learn at home.

Dad : I already put my son to school when he's 1,5 years

Me : Oooh...so where does the school?

Dad : Umm....mmmm....I forgot...

Toddler : Farm Animals

Fritz, Fritz-lightenment

Fritz is currently 22 month 3 weeks

ABC : Coloring Oo

O for Opa....

He knows this letter best! So when I asked him to color, I put the O flash card in front of him. He just mentioned "O for Opa" as long he did the coloring.

Craft
*Horse*

The first craft that we did..

Preparation:
* 2 different color construction paper, light brown and dark brown
* double tape
* scissors
* 2 wiggle eyes
* a black origami paper
* glue
* white wool string

How to do:
1. Make feet print (left and right) on the light brown construction paper, cut it
2. Cut the dark brown construction paper into 4 legs and a neck of horse
3. Put some double tape into the neck and 4 legs.
4. Make the horse by putting one foot print as the head and the other foot print as the body of the horse, connect with the neck
5. Paste the legs
6. Decorate the horse by putting eyes, 2 holes of nose from the black origami paper and a tail from it too
7. Cut the wool string as the hair of the horse, paste it
8. Tadaaaa!!!

*Cow*

Mr.Moo

Preparation:
* Cow's template
* A marble
* A tray
* Black paint
* palette

How to do:
1. Put the cow's template on the tray
2. Prepare the black paint on the palette
3. Dip the marble on it
4. Put the marble on the picture
5. Let the kid shake-shake-shake the tray up-down-left-right
6. and tadaaaaa!!!

*Sheep*

He didn't really into when doing it. He refused to paste the body of the sheep. He didn't like to uncover it with cottons. So it was me! ^^ He just put the eye only...-__-"

Preparation:
* Black construction paper, cut into sheep's template
* Cottons
* Glue
* A wiggle eye

How to do:
1. Apply some glue in the sheep body
2. Cover the sheep's body with the cotton
3. Paste the wiggle eye after that

*Hand Prints Chicken*

This was the fourth craft we did this week and it would be the last one. Actually we still have Pig Craft but we didn't have much time to do it.

So here's what we need:
* a light yellow construction paper, cut into chicken's body
* a dark yellow construction paper
* a black origami paper, make 2 eyes with it
* a red origami paper, make a chicken's mouth by cutting into a diamond shape
* glue
* scissors
* a pencil or pen

How to do:
1. Make kid's hand prints on the dark yellow construction paper, cut it. (Left and right hand)
2. Prepare the body, paste the eyes and mouth using glue
3. Paste the hand prints as the chicken's wings

It's so easy to do!!

Tracing : Straight Lines

When he did tracing, he felt unsatisfied if the lines weren't nice. So he did more and more and it looked like so many lines there.... Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!

Book : Barney goes to Farm

Before sleeping in the night, Fritz likes to read some magazines he has. And I put this book with them and we read it together.

Barney, BJ and Baby Bop came to a farm. They came to help the farmer. They feed the horse, milk the cow, took chicken's eggs, rode a tractor, picked corns and other vegetables. It's a nice story to recognize what we do in the farm.

Learning Toys
*Dough*

Dough is still big hits for him this week. His favorite spot is sitting right in front of in front door.

I made new things for him. I made an airplane, a cat and a car. Actually, I wanna make animals related with the theme this week, but he refused it. The one that I had to make is Mickey's face. He loves to put the eyes, ears and mouth into it.

He practices his soft motor skills by rolling the dough into balls in his hands and paste the dough into the proper place, e.g the eyes, ears and mouth or the wheels of the car.

*Dinosaurs*

Yesterday, when we went to a mini mart, they put a sale toys in front of their mart. I saw a dinosaur packet and it's just cost 9,000 rupiah. So I just got it and asked Pop to pay for it. *yay*

*Wooden Wire*

He just found his old toys. Because of the wire has broken, I didn't allow him to play with it and I just put it very far away from him.

So when he found it, he insisted to play with it. Now, he is able to play properly with this wooden wire. He can move the beads from up to down, left to right and to other sides. Cihuuuuuuuuyyy ^^

*Farm Animals Puzzle*

He didn't too much interest doing it as he is so expert in it. So when I gave to him, he didn't want to complete it. I have to give it more than once this week. It was the 3rd times and he did it!!

Miscellaneous
*Thunder*

When the thunder stroke in, he went to Uncle and stayed like this....he was so afraid of thunder!! Look at his pale face.....cute!

*Crossing feet*

I love this pic so much!!!

Both of them were standing in front door and they stood up alike each other.

The situation:
Pop had a phone from someone and he stood up with crossing feet. Then a few minutes after that, Fritz came nearby and copied what his Pop did. Crossing his feet as well as his Pop did!!

Fun : Jovann's B'day

This week we had attended Jovann's 1st b'day. They held the party at Hoka Hoka Bento, Alam Sutera.

It was a nice party but Fritz really didn't like the party at all. The one he loved was seeing the cake, full of his fave's characters. There were Mickey & friends plus Winnie & friends. He stared the cake for long time.

The rest of the party, he preferred to play outside with Pop and Mabelle and her dad. Dads talked each other about their kids development while Moms (Mom and Tante Mega) were having chit chat inside and enjoying the party. It's a reunion for Mom! ^^
