Field Trip: Korean Cultural Centre

Fieldtrip kali ini mengunjungi Korean Cultural Centre.

Pagi-pagi sudah ikut sama Babeh Ali lalu lanjut naik Gojek menuju ke Gedung Equity. Untung gak telat, macet beneeer booo!!

Begitu sampai disana, anak-anak diajak untuk keliling di sekitaran lokasi itu. Dari perpustakaan yang isinya buku-buku super keren sampulnya. Sampulnya aja yang diliat, jangan ditanya dalamnya. Bakalan puyeng karena gak ada satupun tulisan yang dibaca. Hahahahha.

Lalu lanjut ke ruang kelas untuk belajar Bahasa Korea dan satu ruangan dimana kita bisa nonton segala hal yang berbau Korea, ya berita, K-Pop sampe drakornya. Plus, anak-anak boleh browsing gratis disini. Ini yang paling disukain sama anak-anak.

Setelah diajak keliling, anak-anak diajak menuju ke satu ruangan serba guna. Mereka diajak untuk belajar segala hal tentang Korea, dari budayanya, bahasanya, makanan, baju tradisionalnya dan acara-acara besarnya. Terakhir mereka diajak untuk membuat kreativitas bendera Korea dengan menggunakan kertas crep.

Acara ditutup dengan foto bersama sambil pegang hasil karya masing-masing.

Field Trip: Mengunjungi IMERI

Hari ini kami mengunjungi Museum Kedokteran yang letaknya di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia yang ada di Salemba bareng dengan teman-teman homeschool lainnya.

Museum yang masih baru ini tempatnya enak banget. Adem dan terang. Anak-anak pun juga semangat banget begitu diajak keliling mengitari museum yang tidak seberapa besar ini.

Di awal, anak-anak dijelaskan tentang proses penurunan sifat yang diperankan oleh DNA. Agak deg-deg duer nih waktu dijelasin ini ke anak-anak. Gak lucu aja begitu pulang ditanya-tanya soal ginian nih. Hihihi.

Setelah itu, anak-anak diajak nonton untuk berkenalan dulu tentang museum IMERI di ruang Introduction. Ternyata Museum IMERI atau Indonesia Medical Education and Research Institute ini merupakan museum pendidikan kedokteran pertama di Indonesia loh dengan 5.000 koleksi. Keren yaaa.

Setelah itu mereka diajak ke area Medical Education Journey di Indonesia. Disini anak-anak diinfokan tentang kronologis sejarah pendidikan kedokteran dari era penjajahan Belanda dan Jepang sampai ke pasca kemerdekaan.

Lalu mereka menuju ke area Health Education, dimana anak-anak dijelaskan tentang siklus kehidupan manusia dari pembuahan, melahirkan, anak, dewasa hingga lanjut usia. Selain itu juga dipaparkan tentang penyakit atau gangguan yang dapat terjadi dalam kehidupan manusia.

Di area ini, anak-anak banyak sekali mengeksplorasi. Ada satu keseruan ketika salah satu ABG diajak untuk menggunakan bantal hamil. Sebentar saja merasakan bagaimana menjadi ibu hamil. Bagaimana rasanya dengan perut besar mengambil pen di lantai, bangun dari tidur dan pegalnya pinggang selama 15 menit membawa gembolan di perut. Hohohoho....

Setelah puas di area ini, anak-anak diajak ke area Edutainment. Di sini anak-anak dijelaskan bagaimana menyikat gigi dengan benar. Selain itu, area ini anak-anak kecil bisa bermain dengan puzzle atau komputer yang berkaitan dengan kedokteran sambil menunggu kakak-kakak yang lebih besar masuk ke area yang lebih spesifik.

Area Etalase ini hanya boleh dimasuki oleh anak yang lebih besar, 13 tahun ke atas, karena di dalam ruang tertutup ini ada potongan-potangan tubuh, embrio dari hasil aborsi dan lain-lainnya yang memang sangat tidak boleh dilihat untuk anak yang lebih kecil.

Berhubung dah waktunya makan siang, akhirnya kami cuss ke area kantin. Ealaah, setelah selesai makan malah hujan besar banget dan bikin anak-anak basah kuyup karena kehujanan.

Tadinya sih pingin main board games di daerah Gajah Mada, tapi apa daya begitu sampai disana tempatnya belum buka dan kami tidak dilayani dengan baik. Ya sud lah, daripada baper, kita mampir aja lah makan bakmi Congsim di Mangga Besar. Hahahhaha....

Birthday Present: Going to Kidzania

For this birthday, I wanted to give him a party at my parents' house at first. Then for some reasons, we decided to cancel it. I had another plan to make his birthday more special than last year. I gave him earlier present, going to Kidzania.

Thankfully, we went there by motorcycle. We faced a heavy traffic jam along Sudirman street. Though we're going an hour earlier before Kidzania was opened, we're still late. The motor's machine was off in the end of bad traffic. We walked for few meters to Pacific Place, leaving Ali left behind for handling his motor.

Note for me! We could buy the ticket online so we didn't need to queue for the tickets. Really take time! Then, we couldn't bring any food inside. Remember it very well! They took my breakfast and lunch and put it in the customer service area.

We came inside the city. He looked so excited and confused which he had to go first. There's really lots of kids from more than 3 schools. It became so crowded!

We went to the bank first to save the money and get the ATM card. How happy he was having his own ATM card! ^_^

Then, Fire fighter was our first place to play. He asked me to accompany him as it's his first time. He looked so uncomfy with the situation. He took time for a while to adjust with his new environment. He insisted me to walk with him while the car was going around the city. He had to look my face around him. LOL.

Next, he asked to be a window cleaner. I was afraid he's gonna refuse when he saw he had to go up to clean the window. Fact, he was so excited joining with others. Yeay...he's getting adjust slowly.

We went up to the second floor and went to the library. Here the kids could get 20 Kidzos for simple and easy task. The place is also very comfortable. They designed just like a living room. What a big comfy place to sit!

Fourth place to go was Shoes Factory. The most he loved was playing the soccer with friends from a group of school. He could join and have fun with them as a team.

I was so hungry and I decided to have lunch first before we had some fun again. We had fast food from a restaurant which I forgot what the name was for our lunch. I also forgot to capture our {expensive} small lunch.

After lunch, he wanted to be a painter. Another job he loved!

Next, he wanted to ride a car. He needed to have a driving licence, so we went to hospital. He did the process by his own. He was really enjoying himself now at this city. Done with the driving licence, he drove the car. Actually he wanted to work in the gas station, but he was too small and they needed a rider as there's 4 kids working there. Maybe next time you have a chance, boy!

Become a pilot! He asked me to. We had to wait for 25 minutes before he went inside. The most popular place for the kids. I even didn't know what he did inside. I just watched him from a big screen TV downstairs. Of course he was so happy. ^_^

We just had an hour left. The next destination was Tea Factory. I thought they were going to give a tea for these kids but they didn't.

The last station was making nugget before finally Ali called me to go out from Kidzania.

We met lots of people. I talked with some of them while waiting the kids inside. Fritz also learnt how to adjust with his new friends and environment, making friends and dealing with each others. There's always lesson we learnt from every situation. Don't ask how happy he was. One day we must go back there again, boy! I hope it's gonna be a memorable present for you, yeah.

Field Trip : Lembang

Cerita Ethep, Fritz-trip

Our first day in 2014 was filled by going to Lembang, Bandung. My MIL asked us to go there with her and my BIL. We went so early to avoid the heavy traffic jam in Bandung. We started our trip today at 6 AM from my MIL's house.

The first place we went through was Kartika Sari to buy some snacks there. I just bought a pack of cheese roll. It's quite expensive actually, it costs 40K rupiah for 10 cheese rolls inside the box. Then we continued to Prima Rasa to buy the other snacks. I bought a loaf of brownies, a pack of durian molen and a picnic roll.

As we didn't get our breakfast, I decided to have porridge along our way out from Prima Rasa. I shared the porridge with Fritz.

We continued our trip to St Maria Fatima's church in Lembang. I didn't put my heart here but I cried in a small chapel there. I couldn't hold my burden anymore. I didn't know how to express what I felt just crying.

Then we went to Susu Lembang Kencana near the church. The price for every meal isn't too expensive, however, it's too bad that they don't maintain the area very well. They have a very big space to be explored as tourist area. I think they will be more famous if they maintain it. Maybe they can provide flying fox and so many facilities for children to play there.

We ordered a strawberry yogurt, a chocolate yogurt, a hot choco milk and a plate of grilled glutinous. For three meals costed not more than 50K rupiah. Cheap! When I and Fritz went to the back of the spacious area, I just saw 3 cows in the field. They even didn't have more cows. They really need a change for their place.

Next destination was going to De Ranch. It's a very recommended place to go. They had a big area for their ranch. With a 5K rupiah for the entrance, we get a great scenery as the back ground of the ranch and breathe a very clear air.

My MIL insisted to go to Floating Market. It's quite near from De Ranch but the traffic was already traffic. It took more than an hour to get there.

Finally we arrived after we had fight to get the car park in the middle of the crowded of people who wanted to get inside the Floating Market. We had to park our car in front of someone's shop. Geez!

The entrance costed 10K for every person. Bandung has lots of public area to explore and they know it so they always ask for the entrance fee for it. Gosh!

OMG! Tons of people were here!! SO crowded! We even could enjoy the place, except of course my MIL. :P There's nothing we could do here. We're just ordered for some snack only not a lunch for us. Besides, we had to change our money with the coin as the pic below. The coin costs 5K and 10K and we can't exchange it if we don't use it anymore. Not a very recommended place to go!

The trip was over. We had to face more than 3 hours to go home passing Sadang not the highway. We reached home almost in the middle of night without any good breakfast, great lunch or even simple dinner. Then we ended with instant noodles before we slept. *eyes rolling*

Bali, I'm in Love

Cerita Ethep, Fritz-trip

Yeaaah, we finally had our first vacation again by plane after more than 5 years!! We've bought our tickets on May and I really can't wait for this day. :D Though the tickets weren't cheap enough but those the best price we had, 350K for each persons.

It's gonna be Fritz's first flight. He was so excited!!

We landed safely in Ngurah Rai Airport. My best friend, Indah, was waiting for us in the parking lot with her daughter, Calia, while her hubby was cleaning up the room for us to stay. We stayed at her house for this vacation. I really have a great bestie!!

She greeted us very warmly and also her hubby. We put our suitcase in our room then we had dinner together at Bali Sea Cafe in Jimbaran. We bought 2 vouchers for us having dinner. As I know, Jimbaran has lots of seafood restaurants with beach as the view. We can eat along the beach but Fritz didn't love it so much. He didn't feel any comfy eating in beach side so we decided to have our dinner inside the restaurant.

I didn't quite satisfy with this restaurant as the lights were not good enough, the food also wasn't so yummy as I thought before. The most of all was the chili wasn't spicy, oooh gosh...we're Indonesian and we need spicy chilies, man! :p

Our first day breakfast. We tried a pancake dough from England. It's just coming from Indah's mom in law. Yummy!!

And the journey begun...

We passed the first highway in Bali. It's not just only for cars but also for bikes just right beside the cars' way. The highway was far from from traffic as in Jakarta.

We went to Ayam Betutu Warung Krishna, it's a traditional food from Bali. The place is so nice, it's shady, full of trees and feels like eating in warung though the food is quite spicy. Fritz couldn't eat it and he preferred to get burger and french fries from McDonald. LOL

Next destination was going to Tanah Lot.

We came in the day and it's totally so hot. I knew that I'm gonna have sunburn in my whole body. That's so okay for me. We're ready to explore Tanah Lot. I let Indah and Calia to stay in a shade.

After we're done with Tanah Lot, we went to Beachwalk Mall in Kuta. The mall was so nice.

Few minutes after that, the weather was unpredictable. Before, it was so hot and few minutes later the wind was blowing so hard. We had to wait for Indah taking her car while I had to take care of Calia, the explorer girl. She wanted to walk by herself though she couldn't walk stable.

Time for dinner. Indah and Daniel, came directly after having private course, asked us to have pizza at Warung Italia. Indah couldn't control herself when she knew that the service in this place wasn't good enough. Dan had just waited for 10 minutes but no waiter came to him giving the menu list for him. Then, the most thrilling part was when Indah asked for a bowl and the waiter said that they didn't have any. How pissed her! She cancelled all the orders, the drinks had already ordered, but they had served to us in the middle of her pissed off. She paid and she really pissed off to the manager of the restaurant. She asked Dan to look the other restaurant.

Then, we moved to La Dolce Vita, Italian Restaurant. The pizza was so big, we could ordered 1 meter of pizza. Wow! We're just ordered 50 cm pizza for 2 toppings. Fritz didn't quite enjoy his pizza. It's not his fave pizza, Pizza Hut. :P

We came home and felt so tired. Ali didn't feel so well, he got fever. Indah gave him a Chinese medicine and it made him sleeping so tight. While he's sleeping, I had to accompany Fritz watching Despicable Me 2. Almost an hour he watched before he asked for sleeping.

Second day breakfast. Ali put strawberry jam in his bread. It looked so Western for few minutes, then he dipped the bread into his coffee like he did everytime he ate his bread at home. OMG! LOL

Ali woke up with full power. He said that he has to have that kind of medicine if one day he got fever again. Hahahaha....

After we had breakfast, took a bath, we asked permission to Indah borrowing her car for going to GWK. It's really near with her house, just take not more than 5 minutes to get there. The ticket price for adults is 40K rupiah and for kids is 30K rupiah

The story of GWK

We went back home to go the other place, picking Indah then lets go exploring Bali again...

Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka. Ali dreamt to eat it and his dream came true. Indah preferred to have her lunch in Bebek Tepi Sawah as they provided high chair for Calia. Few minutes after we ordered our lunch, the rain was falling so hard. The place was in Ubud and it's quite far from Indah's house. It took an hour to get there. The view in Ubud is so nice, so many rice fields along the way. How I love Bali!!

Then, we bought some snacks for families and relatives. Indah had ordered Pie Susu for us, so we went to Denpasar to get our Pie Susu. The weather wasn't good enough. Suddenly the heavy rain was pouring when we're on our way home. It's already late and we dropped at Mak Jo to have dinner. We ended at Chinese restaurant. Oh no! :P

We delivered Indah and Calia back to home and we borrowed Indah's car to go to my friend's house at Jimbaran. The rain made us hard to look for her house and it's also late, almost 9 PM. Finally we arrived at Mba Duhita's house. This is the first time I saw her and her gorgeous kids, Daffa and Menara. Menara wasn't in good condition so he didn't play too much with Fritz. He went to sleep after that.

Mba Duhita and Kak Daffa greeted us so warmly. Though it's our first time meet, we didn't put any awkward chitchatting together. Mba Duhita is really a humble person and Kak Daffa is also a nice boy. Unfortunately, we had to back home as it's already late, 11 PM. Thanks for the food you share to us, dear Mba Duhita. *hugs* until we met again.

Before we were really back home, we had to go to beach. It's a must. We're in Bali but we're not going to beach, it means there's something missing. :P So Indah took us to PadangPadang beach.

We returned back the motor to the rent place then we hurried taking a bath and preparing all our stuffs. The holiday was almost over. I really thanked to my very best friend. She's really my person ever. *crying* I didn't wanna my holiday was over. :'(
