Komunitas Sahabat : Sanggar Ciliwung

We had a chance to join with Komunitas Sahabat again. This time, we went to Sanggar Ciliwung to see some kids range from 3 years to teenager around 14-15 years. Mostly they were in Primary school. They're actually a lucky children who have a great opportunity to school and still have parents, though some maybe just have part of both, only mom or dad. Besides they are living near Ciliwung River that always flood every time it's raining. Anyhow, I could say they're quite lucky than street children that having less behavior than them.

I could see they're maintain very well by the 'mom' of Sanggar. They said they are so happy being a part of Sanggar as the adults are giving them lots of care. Sanggar itself means a house for every children in that neighborhood who wants to join and being taught by some volunteers who have heart for caring the others. The children can learn everything they need, for example like lessons from school. I saw that they learnt to reduce and reuse the plastic bottles to make something useful. Also, they learnt how to gardening, painting, and even being a little doctor to help the others. Sounds interesting!

A day before, we {of course, three of us :D} went to Taman Anggrek Mall to have final meeting with Abe, Merry [the chief of this event] and Uli. We searched for free wi-fi and it's quite difficult to find it there. Finally, we found it at Pasta de Waraku Restaurant and {oh gosh}the dishes were very expensive. We talked about the rundown for the next day and the activities for the children. It's really last minute meeting and we still didn't have any ideas for the activities with plastic bottles and a straw that we asked them to bring the next day. Finally in the end, we had a deal, that we're going to plant a tree and make a creativity for door decoration. {oalah..I forgot to repay Merry, please remind me!}

In the morning, we gathered in front of SMA 8 school with KomBat's shirts. Before all of them arrived, I've eaten some school's snacks in front of that school. Oouww, how missed I with this snacks! {not healthy but yummy, note it! :D} I arrived so early because I had to buy the seeds and the media for the plants.

And here we were....we met these gorgeous children. They were so excited with our coming. The only I hate was when I looked at behind the house, Ciliwung river that flew very fast. I really couldn't imagine how that river could make the houses flood as it's shallow during the days. They said it's around adult's belly flood or 100cm more or less. :'((

Fritz was so happy playing with his new friends. Since the first time we arrived, he had sat together with them and started the conversation. Easily to adjust with his new environment...

He was a part of a group. He sat together with his group, discussing the song of the group though he  absolutely didn't understand what they were talking about. :P

Having lunch together with his group

Enjoying his lunch

Some pictures were taken by our cameraman, Andre. Thanks for posting it at his Facebook's album! Check it out..
